Latex Modellfix

Latex is produced on the base of natural rubber. It smells of ammoniac - the preserving agent. Spreadable latex from www.candlecraftcenter.com is vulcanizing and becomes an elastic and quite tear-resistant compound after it has dried. Neither its tear-resistance nor its aging resistance are as good as the ones of silicone rubber but it’s a cheap alternative for the creation of candle moulds, plaster moulds, polyester moulds and soap moulds.

If you use originals of glass or metal, we’ll recommend to paint it first of all with latex koalisator. Thus it won’t need that much time to dry.

Latex Modellfix is a little more viscid than Latex Emulsion. You can use it as well for the cast of a relief.

Paint the object once or several times with Modellfix.

Let it hard-dry. Heat reduces the time it needs to dry.

For objects like the one you see below, we recommend to embed the latex form into sand. Eventually, you can make use of the original to press it into the sand in order to create the desired form.

Generally, you have to know how you want to fill your form finally before starting the construction.

Fill it with wax, plaster, polyester, soap or ceramic compound.
